CAMINHOS RACIONAIS

For 36 years, Racionais MC’s have narrated life on the outskirts of São Paulo, shaping Brazilian music and influencing generations. As part of the first wave of Spotify’s Fan Life series, the project partnered with Guia Negro to map places connected to the group’s history across the city, from KL Jay’s mother’s house, where they first rehearsed, to the iconic welcome graffiti in Capão Redondo. Fans were taken on a guided tour from São Paulo’s North to South Zone, with each stop marked by a commemorative plaque.

A printed guide map accompanied the experience, bringing together the route, stories behind each location, and documentary photography. On the reverse, an illustrated composition connects references to songs such as Mano na Porta do Bar, Homem na Estrada, and Eu Compro with stories from fans themselves, including a graduate who received her diploma to the sound of A Vida é Desafio. The illustration brings places, lyrics, memories, and personal stories into a single visual narrative connected to the group’s history.
